The first set of sessions will focus on testing various learning methods, including visual, auditory, verbal, and reading or writing techniques. I will support students in understanding content, revising, or completing homework assignments. These will be one-on-one online sessions lasting 1 to 2 hours, depending on the student's preferences. Each lesson will be tailored to the student's current study needs; for instance, if exams are approaching, we will concentrate on revision support.
We will cover essential sociological topics using clear explanations, real-world examples, and regular practice questions. I also assist with essay writing, evaluation skills, and exam techniques. Each lesson will be designed to be more interactive rather than lecture-based, allowing students to express their ideas and thoughts while deepening their subject understanding. Instead of merely memorising theories, we will explore how sociology relates to real-world issues such as inequality, education, crime, and media.
I encourage students to ask questions, share their opinions, and think critically. I have a strong academic background in sociology and a genuine passion for the subject. Currently, I am pursuing an undergraduate degree in sociology and politics, where I am averaging first-class grades. I received an A at A Level and an A* in my sociology-based EPQ. Additionally, I have experience working as a teaching assistant, helping my brother with his studies, and facilitating study groups at university. Having been tutored myself, I understand what students need to succeed.
My approach is patient, clear, and focused on building confidence. I adapt my teaching style to suit each student and strive to make sociology accessible, interesting, and manageable.
