Althea Louiese Gan

Hello! I'm Althea Louiese and I am currently a teacher for both Junior and Senior Highschool students. Aside grammar, I also teach different aspects needed in studying English (as it is my major in college) which means I help students explore other factors needed in beginning to learn the language and the subtopics it has that can aid them in future purposes. I focus more on recalling and understanding rather than memorization, usage of it in a practical manner and of course diversity in learning since the language aims to connect people and not divide them.

Being a bilingual speaker growing up with the language, most classes will focus on what the student struggles with so that both I and my students get to know what aspects must be improved. It won't be a typical lecture, but will also include some quizzes or seatwork as drills for practicing.

The structure of my teaching usually starts with finding out the student's strengths and weaknesses with the language, getting to know how and where they need the language then proceeding to lectures and application. I do love guiding students so feedbacks and recommendations are a huge part of it all. Considering that the language is universal, I also add that I teach students how to effectively communicate with others and what factors are there to be considered to avoid misconceptions while speaking the foreign tongue with others, native or not.
