My lessons are friendly, supportive and tailored to each student’s individual needs. As a hardworking and dedicated student, I understand that GCSE Maths can be challenging, and I know how much of a difference the right support and teaching approach can make.

Having been taught by tutors myself, I have experienced first-hand the different teaching methods that can help students learn effectively. I always paid attention to what helped me understand topics best, whether that was breaking difficult questions into smaller steps, using simple explanations, working through examples together or practising questions until I felt confident. I want to take the best parts of those experiences and use them to create effective and enjoyable lessons for my own students.

During lessons, I will focus on understanding each student’s strengths and weaknesses and adapt my teaching accordingly. I believe that students should feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes, as this is an important part of learning. I will be patient and encouraging while also challenging students to improve and become more independent.

My main goal is to help GCSE students improve both their mathematical ability and their confidence. Alongside understanding the content, I will help students develop problem-solving skills, exam technique and the ability to approach unfamiliar questions calmly. Ultimately, I want my students to leave each lesson feeling that they understand something better than they did before and feel more confident in their ability to succeed.
