My lessons are centred around one main goal: helping you genuinely understand Maths and become confident enough to solve problems independently, rather than simply memorising formulas or copying methods.

I believe everyone learns differently, so I will tailor each lesson to your current ability, goals and preferred way of learning. We’ll identify the topics or types of questions you find difficult and break them down into clear, manageable steps. I’ll explain the reasoning behind each method, work through examples with you and give you as many different examples or explanations as you need until the concept makes sense.

Most importantly, I want you to be able to solve problems for yourself. Rather than simply showing you an answer and moving on, I’ll gradually give you more independence as we work through a topic. Once we have gone through examples together, I’ll give you opportunities to tackle similar problems yourself, offering guidance when needed. We won’t rush onto the next topic just because we have reached the end of an example – we’ll move on when you are comfortable applying what you have learned independently.

I also want my lessons to be an environment where you feel completely comfortable asking questions and getting things wrong. Mistakes are often one of the best ways to identify what you don’t yet understand and turn it into something you do.

As a Mechanical Engineering graduate with a strong background in Maths and Further Maths, I have studied and applied mathematics extensively throughout my education. While I am new to professional tutoring, I have experience helping friends and peers understand mathematical concepts, and I particularly enjoy finding simple ways to explain ideas that initially seem complicated.

Whether you are preparing for an exam, struggling with a particular topic, looking to improve your grades or simply want to become more confident in Maths, my lessons will move at your pace. My aim is not just to help you answer today's question, but to give you the understanding and problem-solving skills to tackle the next one yourself.
