I first of all assess what area of the four language skills a student might need more support with, whether that focus is increasing confidence with speaking, listening, writing or reading skills (or all four!). As with most learning, successful acquisition of language comes from practice and repetition, so I plan my lessons in a way that incorporates lots of prior learning through engaging activities and tasks, combined with exam practice skills covering all four language areas.

I have taught students of all mixed abilities and ages, and from this experience I am able to quickly determine what kind of support or learning an individual might need and adapt my teaching pace and approach accordingly. I also draw on my own experience as a learner of languages from a student perspective to guide learners on common mistakes and find ways to overcome any difficulties and increase confidence
