Firstly, I always believe in getting to know you, as a student, first and foremost. A friendly, low pressure, low expectations meeting, allowing us to just have a chat and get to know each other, our personalities and your expectations from the lessons. This allows me to personalise the lessons in a way that will maximise your own learning, based on how you learn, what you want to learn, and how you want to spend your time in these lessons. I'm always a down to earth, low intensity, friendly teacher as I believe that if the learning isn't performed in an environment that is easy-going and judge free, then not only will you not learn as much, but you also won't have a good time at all, so what's the point?
Once we know each other, I can create lessons on the spot with drawings and annotations, using resources I already know how to locate, ensuring any question you want answered immediately will be answered for. Or, I can plan for another session, making an in depth lesson using PowerPoint about the specific topic you want to know or revise, ensuring that you learn as much as you want about it, and ultimately, making sure it sticks in your brain.
I ensure to maintain a positive, fun and judge-free environment to allow a fun time, a good back-and-forth conversation, and in depth learning. As a Trans woman, I endeavour to provide an LGBTQ+ safe and accepting environment for any of my students, where you are free to talk about anything, even if it's not related to revision, as trying to learn with a clouded mind, is like trying to pour more water into a full glass.
