I offer structured and engaging Computer Science lessons for both GCSE and A-Level students. My teaching approach is clear, organised, and focused on improving understanding as well as exam performance.
1. Structured, Step-by-Step Teaching
I explain complex topics such as algorithms, programming techniques, data structures, logic, computer architecture, and networks in a simple and accessible way. Each lesson builds on the last to ensure steady progress.
2. Practical Programming Practice
Students receive hands-on programming experience, mainly in Python (or another language if required). Lessons include coding exercises, problem-solving tasks, and topic-based activities to build confidence and technical ability.
3. Exam-Focused Approach
I incorporate past papers, mark schemes, and examiner reports to help students understand what exam boards expect. This method ensures students develop strong exam technique and are fully prepared for assessments.
4. Personalised Learning
Lessons are tailored to the student’s individual needs. I identify weaker areas early and create a focused plan to support improvement and maximise results.
5. Supportive and Professional Environment
I aim to create a positive and productive learning atmosphere, encouraging students to ask questions and develop independent thinking. My goal is to help students gain both confidence and deep understanding of the subject.
6. Experience and Qualifications
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and a Master’s degree in Software Project Management from the University of Northampton, UK. I also hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and have experience supporting students of different abilities and helping them achieve excellent grades.
