I am experienced and I am a marker and a visiting assessor for SQA. It is important that you find a tutor who understands how the papers are marked and has experience in lots of approaches so that you can find the best fit for you. I have 26 years of experience as a teacher in schools. I know what works! I also have experience in supporting pupils with dyslexia. I enjoy working with small groups so you can benefit from explaining concepts to each other, you don't feel too much pressure being the only one, and you get lots of ideas from your peers too. I am registered with the General Teaching Council so you can be reassured that I am fully police-checked. My degree is from Glasgow University. I tutor English and Drama. I can support the practical as well as the written components in drama. My Higher class in drama last year achieved six As and one B in my class of seven. My N5 pupils all achieved As and have done so for the last five years when I first started teaching certificate drama. My pupils in English always achieve beyond their expectations. I am happy to work with pupils at all stages at secondary as well as N5, Higher, and Advanced Higher.
I will always begin by discussing your goals and looking at how you learn. I will create a clear roadmap with milestones. I will use varied resources such as worked examples, repetition, quick quizzes, and past papers so you will gain confidence. I want you to succeed!
