I will typically begin with a new student with some sort of an introduction to the course and how I teach it. Usually I am quite light hearted and approach both teaching and learning as a fun experience, and not as something gruelling.
I can do both group or one on one sessions, and usually will give some sort of a past paper to the student to complete in their own time, just so that I can assess their strengths and weaknesses by topic, so that I know what I'd need to cover more extensively to what I will only need to go over briefly.
In a session, I expect me and the tutee to be as equals, meaning light hearted, open conversation and another especially important thing is that questions are both asked and answered.

I will usually do short presentations (a few slides long) on just the overall topic itself, then delve into exam questions to use as examples and work on applying the topic into exam questions, when going through questions I'll share my iPad screen, which means I can utilise handwritten notes while on a call, which are legible and easy to understand.
The order goes as follows:
One example question, where I will go through questions piece by piece and show my thought process.
I will then show the tutee a question, where I will expect them to go through it on their own, and ask for help if needed.
Depending on the level of understanding, I will either go through the question/the topic again, or just set them off on some sort of exercise with past exam questions and some exam-style questions which I will have chosen beforehand.
This routine will be similar to maintain good habits which will help them in their exams.

After most sessions, I may assign some sort of homework just for some practice, usually about 3-4 questions of the next topic I plan on doing, which will then be gone through in the next. Based on those results, I can choose whether to still cover the topic in as much detail as I was planning on doing initially.
