Primary teacher with 16 years experience across all age groups teaching 1:1 online as practically as possible.
I am currently training in Steiner Waldorf education and have 16 years Mainstream education experience as a Primary teacher. I believe the best way to learn is through practical experience and like to work practically with learners. I have a GradCert in Mathematical Education and I was a KS1 Science lead for 4 years. I am a Languages specialist with German as my main foreign language and French as my secondary language. I like to use a multisensory approach with learners to help them remember things, using song and movement as well as showing them the concepts. I adapt my teaching to the needs of the student and have experience of teaching SEND children.
At the end of each lesson we will have a quick review of what has been taught and check in with what will be taught the next week. I will set something for use to practise over the time between our sessions, to help consolidate what we learnt. It will be something like a practical activity or a worksheet or game.
I have taught all years in KS1 and KS2 and can adapt my teaching for the relevant ages where appropriate. I like to start a block of sessions with a baseline assessment so I can see what areas need to be targeted, and each time we start a new topic we will do something similar.
