My lessons are structured around the student’s individual needs, with a clear and supportive approach to learning. I usually begin by reviewing the topic and identifying any areas the student is struggling with. I then explain key concepts simply, using examples and step-by-step explanations before moving onto practice questions. Lessons are interactive, with regular questions and discussion to ensure the student understands rather than simply memorising information.

I can adapt the pace depending on the student, spending more time on difficult areas while moving efficiently through topics they are already confident with. I can also focus on exam technique, past-paper questions, revision strategies and how to approach different question styles. Where appropriate, I will set short tasks or questions between lessons to reinforce learning.

I believe students learn best when they feel comfortable asking questions, so I encourage an open and positive atmosphere throughout each lesson. I will celebrate progress, identify areas for improvement and help students understand their mistakes without making them feel discouraged. My goal is to make each lesson productive, enjoyable and relevant to the student’s goals, while helping them become more confident and independent in their learning.

As a former Dulwich College student, I have experienced a high standard of teaching firsthand and understand what makes lessons effective. I achieved five Grade 9s and four Grade 8s at GCSE, alongside a Grade B in Additional Maths, giving me a strong academic foundation. I aim to bring the same structure, clarity and support that helped me succeed into my own lessons.

I also understand that every student learns differently, so I will adjust my explanations and teaching methods accordingly. Whether a student needs extra support with the basics or wants to be challenged with more difficult questions, I will tailor each lesson to their ability. I want students to leave every lesson feeling that they have genuinely learned something new and are better prepared for their exams.
