Not experienced teaching school subjects, but have taught people how to ski before, and the structure will be the same: first I'll teach basics, this involves asking what you know and what you want to know and improve on, then working on learning the theory and then learning how to apply this theory through answering questions. Basically, I will teach you as much as possible via theory first, then "push you down the slope" and see how you do, and suggestions for improvement.
