I like to focus my lessons around my student's interests. I try different ways to help them understand topics and take lessons at the pace of the child. During lessons, I like to recap previous learning before focussing on the area of challenge the child may be having. I try and make lessons fun by making learning practical and including games. I like to keep a friendly atmosphere within the lessons, so these are less formal than a classroom environment, putting the student at ease. I tutor across the primary curriculum, and I have marked Year 6 SATs papers for the past three years. I have over 5 years' experience teaching in primary schools in the UK and I have also had experience teaching in Hong Kong. Previously, I have taught forest-school type activities for the Girl Scouts of Northern California.
