My main objective with my teaching method is to make sure my lessons are interactive and that the student can engage in what we are doing. I truly believe that this is the best way to improve in a second language because it ensures that the student can acquire knowledge that is practical and not obtained in a robotic manner. I try and incorporate games and challenges in my lessons for the students and i put an extremely heavy emphasis on theme based conversational practise so that the student can get used to speaking on a variety of topics in a relaxed environment and picking up large amounts of vocabulary in a stress free manner.
My experience of teaching both in schools and online has really allowed me to see the pitfalls and benefits of certain methods. This has allowed me to perfect a certain style and method that i believe works for the vast majority of students simply because the lessons are not aimed to create robotic learners who memorise lists of words or verb conjugations. On the contrary, i want to help students understand more difficult concepts but in a natural and realistic manner in order to be morre efficient language learners. This theory sums up my method, a simple interactive method that allows students to tackle the more difficult concepts without stressing.
