Alex Cumming

Hi! I’m a top-grade medical student passionate about helping students achieve their best. I have a year of tutoring experience under my belt, and I’ve also been a teaching assistant at an art school.

My grades are:
at GCSE in English Literature, Maths, History, Art, French, Triple Science, Computer Science and English Language
and A*A*AB at A Level in Biology, Art, Chemistry and Maths.

I tailor my teaching to each student’s needs, making lessons interactive, engaging, and easy to follow. I know how challenging exams can be, so I focus on breaking down complex topics, building confidence, and sharing effective revision techniques that actually work.

Having gone through the process myself, I understand what it takes to achieve top grades. Whether it's mastering tricky concepts, refining exam techniques, or boosting overall understanding, I’m here to support students every step of the way.

Outside of studying, I paint, play hockey and tennis, and am an avid musician. Looking forward to helping you reach your goals!

I believe learning happens best when students feel supported and engaged, so I break things down in a way that makes sense to them, encourage questions, and help them think critically. Whether it’s exam prep, building skills, or boosting confidence, I adapt my approach to ensure they get the most out of our sessions.

To track progress, I use quizzes, discussions, and written tasks, but I also pay attention to their confidence and how they apply what they’ve learned. My goal is to create a positive learning experience where students feel motivated, capable, and ready to tackle challenges.
