I am quite new to tutoring, and young, however I believe that makes it better for me to relate and communicate with your child, so I can use effective methods to teach them. In maths we will work through different topics, with a mini test at the end of the topic. I will try help them think mathematically, and do problem solving questions as well. We would focus on topics that your child struggles the most with. I would have a rewards system, and targets set for them. For english, we will do reading and comprehension skills, and build their confidence in creative writing. I try to base english around something they enjoy, for example, if they like Star Wars, then I would create a stimulus based on that, like perhaps writing a story about another planet. Moreover, I would write a similar story based on that, so they could read and infer, building their comprehension skills.
