Having spent 6 years living in Spain with my family, I am confident that I have been immersed into the culture, language and traditions, which brings another angle to teaching a language.
This experience has also formed my academic focus, which led me to pursuing a degree in Sociology with Spanish at LSE, where I explore such topics as immigration, identity , education and intercultural communities in both hispanic and worldwide contexts.
I am sure that my passion for the language, my academic background and the immersion and personal connection to Spanish culture will let me create a deeply unique and engaging learning experiences for the students at any age. For instance, living in Spain has been a powerful asset to offer a more meaningful content and examples, such as real life cultural insights, cultural activities and authentic language exposure. It includes exploring colloquial expressions, regional accents, not just textbook Spanish; as well as offering perspectives on Spanish traditions, customs and holidays such as San Juan, siestas; moreover, I would incorporate analysing current events from Spanish sources to create a more meaningful in order to apply language knowledge to real life cases.
