Alexsandra Bator

I am a friendly, chatty and enthusiastic science teacher who loves talking about biology and chemistry. I am a fully qualified teacher, having completed my PGCE at the University of Cambridge, and I am currently in my second year of teaching secondary school science.

I have experience teaching and tutoring GCSE Biology and Chemistry, as well as a strong academic and practical background in science. Before teaching, I spent a year working in a research laboratory and another year working in a medical laboratory for the NHS. I enjoy bringing this real-world experience into lessons and showing students how the science they are learning connects to the world around them.

My aim is not just to help students learn facts, but to genuinely understand the ideas behind them. I use visual explanations, worked examples, exam practice and retrieval practice to build understanding and confidence. I also believe that talking through problems together is one of the best ways to identify misconceptions and develop the skills needed for strong exam performance.
