I have always considered teaching much more than simply explaining rules or transferring knowledge: for me, it is a way of communicating, connecting with people, and sharing the things I am passionate about.
In Italy, I taught Italian, Latin, and English on a one-to-one basis, working with students of different ages and needs. This experience taught me how important it is to adapt my approach to each learner and to make lessons both effective and engaging. I later had the opportunity to teach Italian at an Italian language academy for English-speaking students, where I further developed my interest in helping people discover the richness of my native language.
Italian is a fascinating and complex language, and one of the things I enjoy most about teaching it is going beyond vocabulary and grammar. I like helping students understand what lies behind the language: its structure, its nuances, its sounds, its cultural background, and the different ways in which meaning can be expressed. I believe that understanding these aspects allows students not only to speak Italian, but also to appreciate it.
I have never lost my passion for teaching because I genuinely enjoy communicating with people and sharing what inspires me. My interests extend beyond languages: I am also passionate about Latin dance, which I teach, and I find that the same principles of rhythm, expression, and communication that are present in dance can also enrich language learning.
Music has always played an important role in my life as well. I studied music, with a particular focus on opera, and I love bringing this passion into my Italian lessons. Opera offers a unique way to explore Italian pronunciation, rhythm, emotion, and culture, while showing students how beautifully language can come alive through music.
For me, teaching Italian is ultimately about sharing a language, a culture, and a way of seeing the world.
