Hello! My name is Alana and I am a Cambridge CELTA qualified English language teacher from the United Kingdom. I have always been deeply interested in languages, speaking French and Portuguese as well as English, therefore I understand what it is like to learn a new language.

My lessons are always very student-centric, meaning that I actively encourage students to use English as much as possible and to figure out things for themselves. I find that lessons are more fun and engaging in this way. Lessons dominated by teachers are uninspiring and boring and is something that my students will never experience when learning with me.

I am both an online and in-person English teacher, with experience in teaching intensive English to A1- C1 learners in adult learner schools.

Having recently done an intensive Portuguese language course, I understand what it is like to learn a new language, so I always have patience with my students.

As minhas aulas sempre têm o estudante no centro então nunca as domino. Deixo o estudante a falar e encorajo-o a descobrir as coisas por si mesmo quando for possível. Faço isso para que o estudante fique com mais confiança em si. Como já fiz um curso intensivo de português, sempre tenho paciência.
