Akiko Kimura

My lessons are friendly, practical, and focused on helping students use Japanese with confidence in real-life situations. I mainly teach through the direct method, encouraging students to think and speak in Japanese naturally from the beginning. I teach useful and practical Japanese that students can use in daily life, travel, work, and conversations with native speakers.

I also believe that understanding Japanese culture and manners is very important when learning the language. For example, when traveling in Japan, knowing Japanese customs, rules, and polite communication can make the experience much smoother and more enjoyable. I would love to help students learn not only the language, but also Japanese culture and everyday etiquette.

I have over 2 years of teaching experience, mainly in group lessons, but I also teach private lessons. I can support students in basic English when needed. My lessons are especially suitable for beginners, including students who have never spoken Japanese before or those who once gave up studying Japanese and want to try again. I also offer lessons for travelers preparing for a trip to Japan.

I especially enjoy teaching motivated students who want to continue learning steadily and improve step by step. I create a comfortable and encouraging environment where students can build confidence and start speaking naturally. Intermediate students are also welcome to improve their conversation and grammar skills.
