Approaching 5 years of experience as a Japanese and English tutor, I have taught students of a variety of ages and backgrounds with a curriculum tailored towards each one, and I’m sure I could find the best way for you too! My main focus is usually on practical communication and learning the essential phrases, whether that be for your upcoming trip, studying in a new country, or learning about a specific area for work. I am flexible with adjusting content based on your goals and interests, so please do let me know. I believe in the hands-on approach so I encourage students to speak as much as possible - but don't worry about getting it right immediately, what's important is to try!!
Especially for Japanese learners: I know that Japanese can seem like a challenge, with all the kanji and different forms of speech, for example, but I promise I will do all I can to help you through! I have firsthand experience struggling to learn the language during secondary school. I can understand what it feels like as well as how best to tackle obstacles that come up along the journey.
I love learning languages and am someone who believes it definitely does not have to be a boring process! Making lessons enjoyable is just as important to me as it is to improving your language skills. I hope to show you the beauty of the language and culture while also helping you on your path to a confident speaker! I'll be cheering you on and supporting you as best I can the whole way.
