I prefer to use a personalised approach to tutoring, developed based on the individual students needs and learning goals. Lessons will follow the relevant curriculum but will utilise different methods with the aim of making maths easier and more accessible for students who struggle with traditional teaching methods. I have experience in working with children with learning difficulties including ADHD, Dyslexia, and Autism, and I am familiar with the ways that this can affect their focus and learning. This is why I develop a tutoring plan after meeting with students and discussing their personal needs and goals when it comes to learning mathematics or related subjects, as I understand that traditional teaching methods do not work for everyone and that schools cannot necessarily cater to every students needs. My goal in tutoring is to help students understand the course material, and to help them get the best possible grade that they can, by offering a tailored approach to the material and by helping them to develop the mathematical skills necessary to achieve this. I encourage students to help lead the tutoring so that it focuses on the areas and topics they need the most help with, and I am open to discussion and feedback surrounding the sessions material and teaching style. I aim to support students in developing their skills and confidence in mathematics as I understand it is a subject that many people struggle with and do not enjoy, but I hope that I can help change that for my students.
