Aidan O'rourke

I am a highly experienced tutor in German and English, and I am also a digital journalist - that's very important for the way I help people to learn languages.

Instead of working through a course book, I select articles, audio, video, and all kinds of interesting materials for my students. I write written and spoken exercises to help my students aquire the new language faster and more effectively. I also write multilingual material of my own that's interesting and at the right level for language learners.

That's why my courses are always varied, lively and tailored to the interests and language level of the students I work with.

I have a huge amount of experience. I I've taught adult students one-to-one and in groups, including employees of big companies (Siemens, Westcon-Comstor, Jane Street and more) I've taught English in the Middle East, Hong Kong and Germany, as well as in colleges and schools in the UK.

As a native English speaker, I'm one of very few who have reached a near-native level in German. Due to my language teaching background, I speak both languages very clearly and with a neutral accent, clearer and in a more understandable way than many native speakers. My knowledge of German, French and Spanish is useful to speakers of those languages learning English.

I have a parallel career as a digital journalist. I have two YouTube channels, I speak and write German and English every day. I really enjoy creating journalistic materials that are useful for language learning and using them with my students.

My varied experience has given me many ideas and advice about language learning. By learning how to learn a language, you can learn faster, more effectively and more enjoyably. I'm interested in languages and have intemediate competency in French, other languages at a basic level, including Spanish, Chinese and Dutch.

I'm very flexible, I find it very interesting to meet new people, and I really enjoy teaching online. I find the contact with people from different backgrounds in other countries very exciting.
