I offer structured, one-to-one GCSE tutoring in Maths and the Sciences, with lessons tailored to the individual student. Sessions begin by identifying gaps or misconceptions, then rebuilding understanding from first principles using clear explanations and worked examples. The emphasis is on understanding why methods work, so students can apply ideas confidently in unfamiliar exam questions rather than relying on memorised methods.
Lessons are closely aligned to GCSE specifications and mark schemes. We regularly practise exam-style questions, break down higher-tariff problems step by step, and develop effective exam technique alongside subject knowledge. Lessons are interactive and discussion-based, with students encouraged to ask questions throughout and explain their reasoning, helping me identify and address misunderstandings early.
I am currently studying Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Chemistry at A-level, and hold an offer to read Physics at Oxford. Having recently completed GCSEs myself, I have up-to-date insight into course demands, common misconceptions, and what examiners are looking for in top-level answers.
Students are welcome to message me between lessons with short questions if they are stuck, although replies may not always be immediate. Where appropriate, I set optional work between sessions: for students with exams approaching, this may include targeted exam-style questions which I can mark and discuss in lessons; for others, tasks may focus on exploring ideas in more depth, such as short research or extension activities designed to build curiosity and long-term understanding.
