About Me
I’ve been practising yoga since my early thirties and completed an intensive yoga teacher training in 2019. I continue to study and deepen my practice: My daily practice is with Caroline Simpson, a Level 2 authorised teacher in Bristol. I also go on study-trips to India to study with Sharmila Desai, a certified Ashtanga teacher in Morjim.
Discovering Ashtanga yoga was life-changing. During my earlier corporate career in London, I developed Graves’ disease - an autoimmune condition requiring lifelong medication. Through yoga, nutritional changes and a move to the countryside, I’ve managed to become medicine-free and feel healthier, both physically and mentally, than ever before.
Yoga philosophy continues to support me through life’s challenges — from anxiety and stress to grief, trauma and complex relationships. Ashtanga yoga offers a powerful, structured framework of breath-led movement you can practise anywhere, anytime — even without a teacher. It’s both empowering and meditative.
What to Expect in Class
In our first few sessions, we’ll focus on building ease and confidence; connecting breath to movement, developing strength and stamina, and creating stability for any future flexibility or “openings”. It’s a steady journey of patience, curiosity and commitment - one that can truly transform how you feel in your body and mind.
