What to Expect from My Maths Lessons
My lessons are designed to be supportive, focused, friendly, and flexible to meet each student’s unique needs. I begin by identifying your current level, strengths, and any areas that need improvement. From there, I create a tailored plan to help you build confidence and understanding step by step. Whether you’re preparing for exams like National 5, Higher, or Advanced Higher, or just want to improve your overall maths skills, I’m here to help.
Each lesson typically starts with a quick review of previous topics to reinforce learning, followed by tackling new content at a comfortable pace. I use a mix of explanation, worked examples, and guided practice. We’ll go through past paper questions regularly to build exam confidence, and I’ll also share tips on how to approach problem-solving and manage time effectively.
Lessons are interactive—I encourage questions and aim to create a space where students feel comfortable making mistakes and learning from them. I adjust the format as needed depending on your learning style; some students prefer visual explanations, while others benefit more from step-by-step logic.
As a Maths and Philosophy student at the University of St Andrews, I’ve developed strong analytical and communication skills. I’ve also worked with learners in various settings, so I understand that every student learns differently. My goal is to help you not just improve your grades, but actually enjoy the subject more.
Whether online or in-person, lessons are engaging, structured, and designed with your success in mind.
