For the Maths classes, I would first prepare the topic for the class in advance so that it matches student's needs. During the class I like to go over the mathematical concept first with many examples and then let the student, explain it back to me to ensure that they understand it correctly. Then we would move to exercises that slowly get more and more difficult, building on the classes we had before and combining them in more complext exercises.
For the Polish language classes, it all comes down to what level the student is at and what do they want to practise. I'm happy to do speaking, conversational classes during which we would practice pronounciation and the ability to understand the Polish language and converse fluently. Other types of classes I do are: grammar classes, writing classes and vocabulary classes. If a student is only starting learning Polish, then I'd start by increasing student's vocabulary range and then slowly build up the understanding of the grammar.
