Innovative and experienced Biology tutor holding a Bachelor of Science in Biology, a
head and senior science teacher of a notable basic school, a certified International
Baccalaureate (IB) trainee, a five (5) years teaching experience at both primary and secondary levels, adapt and dynamic at creating an engaging curriculum and developing a passion for biology among diverse students groups. Pursuing to contribute my quota to the continuous growth of students and academic excellence in the institution in which I find myself.
Responsibilities

1. Use Integrated Computer Simulation methodology as much as possible to improve the understanding of students in concepts in Biology.
2. Build positive relationships with students, recognizing their profound impact on learning outcomes.
3. Foster inquiry-based and concept-driven learning, integrating Approaches to Learning (ATL) skills into lessons to develop independent, reflective, and effective learners.
4. Design engaging and differentiated lessons that cater to a diverse range of abilities and cultural backgrounds.
5. Create a stimulating and organized online environment with displays that reflect and celebrate student learning.
6. Participate actively in students improvement initiatives, meetings, and professional learning environment.

Methodology

? As I assume the role of a facilitator throughout my teaching practice, I revise the RPK of the students to brainstorm their memory and recall of what they already know about the lesson that was about to be taught. For instance, when I was teaching the sub-topic, The External Features of a Toad, under the topic Toad, I revised the RPK of the students on the external features of Tilapia. This aroused the students 'attention and brought their minds to the lesson under discussion.
? The questioning technique will be relevant to the topic to arouse their interest and motivation. This help in the retention, recall and transfer of the knowledge.
? Proper students management will be ensured to create a conducive environment for teaching and learning to move on smoothly. This will enhance the activeness of the students.
? I will present students with live specimens online , example is the millipede, to discover the external features themselves as discovery learning demands. This guided discovery help student to develop creativity and problem solving skills and boast their confidence as they claim ownership of their knowledge as Jerome Brunner remarked.
? The instructional strategies use will vary to cater for the individual differences in their
learning styles. This will be effective as there will be no bias in terms of gender and learning style.
I will make use of computer simulations, learner profile and Approaches to
Learning (ATL) skills and speak audibly to the hearing of the student. All these will promote full participation in the teaching and learning process, making the weak energetic and the strong became more firm.
? I will conduct quizzes, projects and tests at the end of each topic to check how students
understand what they have been taught. And this will be a powerful tool for preparing the
students for any impending examinations.
