My lessons are structured, engaging, and tailored to each student’s needs, with a strong focus on exam performance and confidence. At the start of our work together, I identify the student’s exam board, current level, and specific areas for improvement, and use this to plan lessons with clear objectives linked to the specification.
Each lesson typically follows a clear format. I begin by reviewing key concepts to ensure strong understanding, then move on to applying this knowledge through guided practice and exam-style questions. I place particular emphasis on helping students understand what examiners are looking for, including how to structure high-scoring answers, use evidence effectively, and develop clear evaluation. Lessons are interactive, with regular questioning and discussion to check understanding and encourage active thinking rather than passive learning.
For A-level Economics and Politics, I focus on building strong analytical and evaluative skills, including essay structure, use of data and examples, and clear chains of reasoning. For GCSE Economics and History, I concentrate on developing solid foundations, clear explanations, and confidence with key exam techniques such as source analysis and structured responses. Where helpful, I use diagrams, model answers, and step-by-step breakdowns of questions.
Alongside content, I support students with revision strategies, exam timing, and exam-day confidence. My aim is for students to leave lessons feeling clearer, more confident, and better equipped to succeed independently.
