My lessons are friendly, engaging and well-structured, with the aim of making mathematics easier to understand and helping students build confidence in their abilities. I believe that every student learns differently, so I adapt my teaching style to suit each student’s individual needs, current ability and learning pace.

At the beginning of our lessons, I will identify the topics you feel confident with and those you find more challenging. This allows me to create a personalised approach that focuses on improving your understanding and addressing any gaps in your knowledge. I explain mathematical concepts step by step, using clear explanations and worked examples to break down difficult questions into manageable stages.

My lessons are interactive, giving students plenty of opportunities to practise what they have learned. We will work through questions together before moving towards independent practice, allowing you to develop your problem-solving skills and become more confident in applying different methods. I encourage students to ask questions whenever they are unsure, as I believe understanding why a method works is just as important as knowing how to use it.

For students preparing for exams, I can incorporate exam-style questions to strengthen their technique, improve their ability to apply knowledge and familiarise them with different question formats. We can also review mistakes together to identify areas for improvement and turn them into valuable learning opportunities.

As a tutor, I aim to be patient, approachable and encouraging. My experience as a teaching assistant at a Tamil school for 10 months has helped me develop my communication skills, patience and ability to adapt explanations when a student finds something difficult. I understand the importance of providing encouragement while allowing students to develop independence.
