I am a qualified primary school teacher with 10 years of classroom experience across EYFS, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. I currently teach Year 6 and have also taught and supported pupils preparing for their Year 6 SATs. I offer friendly, engaging and carefully planned lessons in English, maths, phonics and the wider primary curriculum.
My lessons are tailored to each child’s individual needs, confidence and learning style. I begin by identifying any gaps in understanding before creating clear, achievable learning steps. Lessons usually include a short recap, focused teaching, guided practice and an opportunity for the pupil to apply their learning independently. I use games, visual resources, practical activities and real-life examples to make learning enjoyable and memorable.
I am trained in Read Write Inc. phonics and have successfully led English, maths, humanities and digital skills within schools. I have also supported whole-school improvements in reading. My experience means I understand the National Curriculum, age related expectations and the skills children need to make strong progress.
I create a calm, positive environment where pupils feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. I believe confidence is central to successful learning, so I celebrate progress while providing the right level of challenge. I can support children who need help catching up, consolidating classroom learning, preparing for assessments or extending their knowledge.
Parents can expect reliable communication, honest feedback and lessons with clear learning objectives. My aim is for every child to leave each session feeling more confident, capable and proud of what they have achieved.
