I have taught a series of Italian lessons in my school, and throughout those I always use games and drawings, I fully believe that visual learning is the most engaging method and will last with you for longer! I typically start with the presentation of new vocabulary, through an almost “game-show-esque” manner, then this vocabulary will be applied to reading texts, and then writing! Grammar is infamously the most difficult and daunting part of learning a new language, but having studied throughout lockdown- I have found ways to make it more bearable! In terms of speaking, one and one conversations will be used, but I promise you it is not as scary as it looks! It’s tough but once you get into the flow, you’ll have a blast! With content in Spanish lessons, we will look at introducing yourself (personality and physical appearance), hobbies and interests, regional festivals in Spain and Latin America, key survival phrases (doctor’s consultancy and ambulance), and conversational Spanish (ordering food, asking for directions) but naturally vocabulary from outside of these topics will be picked up as we go along! I will also recommend a series of books and films, that will naturally help with reading and listening skills, whilst also picking up more vocabulary on the way! But the plus side is there is no pressure of a deadline with the films and books- they are entirely optional. Hopefully, you will not only learn Spanish with me, but also revision and research methods that will help you with further or future studies!
