Abigail Draper

Hello! I'm Abigail, an English graduate with a love for the English arts and a commitment to engaging and pressure-free tutoring.

I have experience in tutoring children and adults in English Language and Literature at Key Stage 2 - Foundation degree. I can provide tutoring for English beginners in conversational and written practice, English comprehension for primary children, and support for those studying English and related subjects in higher and further education.

My sessions can be structured how you find most useful, ranging from written to spoken activities, providing my own examples, and help in reviewing existing work, among others. If you are unsure what methods would support you best, I will design a beginning session for you to get a feel of your tutoring preferences.

For parents of primary age children, I will tailor my sessions for ease of understanding, compassion, patience, and engaging in fun educational activities. While my focus is in English, for this age group, I am also able to provide basic tutoring in Maths, Sciences, History, and Geography.

In university, I studied period texts up to postmodern texts, grammar, creative forms of writing, high standard essay construction and editing, and writing for specific purposes. I am also able to provide editing and help for texts outside of essays and assessments, such as in creative work and CVs.

Overall, I provide a patient and personalised environment to help you achieve your learning goals. Your initial session with me will be free for your assurance in my quality of tutoring. I hope to hear from you soon!
