-1:1 tutoring of A-level Biology, Chemistry, and Physics (academic year ; in
person during term breaks, 5 hours/week)

Tutoring style:
My tutoring style focuses on the students and encourages them to think critically to come up with solutions to difficult problems on their own. I can break down difficult concepts into manageable chunks that are easier to understand - and my previous students can attest that I am good at this. My lessons are also interspersed with questions for the student to see if they are confident with their material.
Previous students' feedback include that my approach of encouraging critical thinking and problem solving have made them more confident and given them a wider knowledge base when approaching unfamiliar problems.

In terms of teaching material, I try my best to use resources that are easily available to the student, whether that is the student's textbook or the internet. However, during my tutoring itself, these resources tend to be used more as references than anything else, and the student and I often share ideas via a (virtual) whiteboard instead.

I also have experience providing mock interviews and feedback on personal statements for students considering Biochemistry and Chemistry at Oxford, as part of a micro-internship at a sixth form.
