Abdulai Yusuf

I am Abdulai, a First Class Mechanical Engineering graduate from the University of Brighton, accredited by the IMechE. I have tutored 35+ children in Maths, driven by a genuine passion for the subject and a real enjoyment of sharing what I know.

My lessons follow a clear and deliberate structure. I begin by addressing any difficulties the student has had with their school homework, then move on to a short set of starter questions drawn from our previous session to reinforce retention. From there, we focus the main body of the lesson on the specific topics the student finds most challenging.

I have a thorough understanding of the exam board specifications, particularly AQA and Edexcel, and I know exactly how examiners award marks. This allows me to guide students towards securing every mark available to them. For older students, I incorporate past papers into our sessions as targeted preparation for their final exams. I also set homework, but only once I am confident the student has fully grasped the material we have covered.

At the start of every session I set out clearly what I expect from the student, so that we both work towards the same goal. Standard lessons run for one hour, with two or more hour sessions available for intensive exam preparation.
