I’ve been tutoring for two years now and honestly the best part of the job for me is seeing a student go from 'I can’t do this' to 'I’ve got this!'
My background is quite academic . I have a Bachelors in Economics and a Masters in Data Analytics with Distinction but I’ve learned that having the knowledge is only half the battle. The other half is being able to explain it in a way that feels simple. My teaching method isn't about memorising formulas; it’s about 'building blocks.' We start with what you’re comfortable with and slowly add the new pieces until the whole picture makes sense. Because I work with data every day, I’m great at finding fresh ways to explain tricky concepts so they finally 'stick.'
In terms of qualities, I’d say my biggest strength is my patience. I’m a natural listener and I’ll never rush you. If we need to go over the same graph or equation ten times in ten different ways, that’s completely fine by me.
I pride myself on being warm and approachable but I also keep things professional. You’ll get the best of both worlds: someone who really knows their stuff at a high level but who delivers it with a friendly vibe. My goal is to make our weekend sessions a place where you can catch your breath and actually get those tricky topics to make sense.No pressure and no 'silly' questions. We work together as a team.
