About me

My lessons are practical, relaxed and project-based. Rather than spending the whole session on theory, I like students to actually make things. Depending on their age and interests, we can create games in Scratch, build Python projects, make simple websites with HTML, CSS and JavaScript, explore beginner-friendly AI concepts, or work towards a bigger coding project over several lessons.

I always adapt lessons to the individual student. Someone completely new to coding might start with simple visual programming and small games, while a more confident student could move into Python, web development or more advanced programming concepts. I’m happy to follow a student’s interests too, whether they’re excited about games, websites, apps or AI.

Alongside my Computer Science studies and my own web/app development projects, I also have an SCQF Level 7 qualification in Social Services (Children & Young People) and previous nursery experience. This has given me experience communicating with children, explaining things in different ways and creating a patient, supportive learning environment.

My aim is for students to finish each lesson feeling like they’ve actually created something, learned a new skill and had fun doing it.
