I have previously volunteered at Primary Schools to support students with their Maths homework. This ignited my interest in assisting younger learners. I am patient and approachable, and I will not move on until I am certain my student has understood the topic. I believe practice is the key to succeeding in Maths. I would request my student to complete a set of questions before our lessons, emphasizing that it does not matter if he or she gets them right or not. We will discuss the difficulties during the lessons, while I provide methods and theory. If the student is still stuck on a certain topic, I will explore other approaches in the following lessons. I believe it is vital that the student is not only shown one way of doing questions, as each person has different preferences in their way of understanding Maths.
