My lessons are informal with the student expected to get involved with the conversation I believe that learning is a two way process and treat each session and student as an individual and tailor the session the their learning style.
Expect high energy sessions aiming to make the student feel like they are a part of the historical subject taught. Visuals are an important part of the sessions via documentaries and other historical media. Debating and question and answers are a part of my teaching as having an opinion makes us question the reasons why. For this we need facts and the ability to see things from other perspectives
I have worked with young people with ADHD and other neurodovergencies and have gained skills that help me get the attention and focus of the most challemging of students This experoence has also helped me dwvelop patieince and understanding which i believe is essential for good teaching. I have worked with young people from the ages of 10 and upwards and am confident teaching secondary school up to A level.
