As a former tutor on a King's College London tuition programme, I ran tutoring and revision sessions for Year 10 and 11 pupils, supporting pupils to achieve the GCSE grades required to make competitive applications to high tariff universities. I created engaging and interactive lesson plans and resources in Canva and adapted them to meet students' diverse learning needs. When delivering sessions, I monitored students' progress through regular assessments, using their results to provide constructive feedback and to adapt future sessions. As a result, all students improved by two grades above their level on the progress tests, and their confidence in answering exam questions increased significantly.
This experience enhanced my ability to provide continuous, targeted student support by managing and delivering a structured programme, effectively maintaining rapport and establishing a supportive relationship with students across the twelve weeks. Furthermore, I learned the importance of continually reviewing students' progress and using the data to adapt sessions to maximise the programme's impact. My sessions are tailored to each student's learning style, with regular feedback and practice of the key skills required for the exam.
