I have experience with tutoring Key stage 3 students at Grammar school. I’ve achieved a grade 7 in chemistry, triple higher, AQA. I’ve also gone through the edexcel and OCR syllabus whilst teaching other students from various schools in Essex.

Lessons are discussed before the first lesson. With the first lesson being free, to allow the student to accept me as their tutor. Every lesson will be spent honing the students critical thinking skills, by giving them timed questions. Multiple choice, 1 marker questions. This allows them to answer questions under pressure.

I will go through any questions the student asks me for, relating to the subject itself. If the student is interested in a question related to chemistry, but not related to the question, I will spend a few minutes discussing their particular question with them.

Every lesson will end with a brief chemistry fact, to encourage students love of learning. Also, every lesson, the student should remember the chemistry fact, to help with their cognitive thinking, however this does not affect the overall structure of the lesson.
