A'iesh Shanizul

I am an undergraduate student at the University of Glasgow with over two years of experience tutoring mathematics to students at secondary school, pre-university, and introductory university level. I teach GCSE/IGCSE, A-Level, and foundation university maths, with a strong focus on understanding concepts clearly and applying them confidently in exams.

My lessons are structured, interactive, and tailored to each student’s needs. At the start, I identify areas of weakness and learning goals, then design lessons that build strong fundamentals step by step. I place a strong emphasis on why methods work, not just memorising formulas, so students develop genuine problem-solving skills.

During lessons, we work through guided examples together before moving on to exam-style questions. I encourage students to ask questions freely and explain their thinking, helping them gain confidence and avoid common mistakes. I also focus on exam technique, time management, and recognising question patterns — especially for students preparing for important exams.

I am patient, supportive, and adaptable in my teaching style. Whether a student needs help catching up, strengthening basics, or pushing for higher grades, I adjust the pace and difficulty accordingly. My aim is to create a comfortable learning environment where students feel motivated and capable of improving.

Overall, my goal is not just to help students solve questions, but to help them think mathematically, build confidence, and achieve lasting improvement in their studies.
