Can you start learning electric guitar if you´ve never learned the acoustic?

I want to learn the electric guitar but people have told me it´s better to start with acousitc. Is this true? Any advice would be appreciated!

You can start with either one, each will give you skills for the other. An acoustic will give you a more sensitive, detailed playing technique though with no effects to cover it up, and you'll get a feel for controlling your volume. Most acoustics guitars take a bit more force to press the strings to the frets too, which will make electric feel easier. All these things can be learned on electric though by playing without effects, so don't worry if you're lacking one or the other, just play what you have available!
