Student-centred lessons tailored to your needs

After completing my degree at University in Computer Science Engineering, I took a teaching position, and it was at this time that I realised I had found my true vocation in life. If someone were to ask me what would be the best thing I could do with my life, I would have to say without a doubt “teaching”.
I have been teaching since 2002 in schools, colleges and privately. Since moving to England in 2012, I have been delivering a range of Spanish courses at North Warwickshire and South Leicestershire College. As part of my responsibilities I develop and implement the SOW and lesson plans and carry out different assessments. I run my own company in which I provide Spanish tailored courses to business such as The National Crime Agency, The Ministry of Defence, Language Services Direct and Jaguar Land Rover to mention a few. Furthermore, I deliver face-to-face and online lessons to private learners all levels and ages in addition to teaching GCSE and A level including home educating students. I have developed my own website and Moodle platform where a number of Spanish courses can be accessed online in order to promote independent learning.
Alongside my Diploma in Education and Training, I was collaborating as a volunteer at Sidney Stringer Academy as a Spanish teacher. It provided me with an opportunity to get a full understanding of the British Educational System, particularly in secondary schools. I am familiar with several GCSE and A level awarding bodies including AQA, Edexcel and WJEC and my repertoire of teaching, learning and assessment strategies have contributed towards the high level of success by my learners.

My teaching practice has been graded as outstanding using Ofsted criteria in both DET and QTLS as well as in NWSLC and I have demonstrated a consistent ability to deliver lessons, which are student-centred. They are differentiated to meet individuals' needs including those with Autism and I have included a range of active learning strategies to engage students and ensure that they progress and meet each individual´s potential. It is clear to me that it has had a positive impact on learners’ attendance, achievement, satisfaction and retention, which are all key performance indicators used by Ofsted, NWSHC and my own company. As part of my professional development I have undertaken several courses including a level 2 Understanding Autism.
