Experienced Maths Tutor Helping Students Build Confidence and Improve Grades

I am an experienced Maths tutor with over 10 years of teaching experience, helping students improve their confidence, understanding and exam performance.

I teach KS3, GCSE Foundation and Higher, AS Level, A-Level, Further Maths and IB Mathematics. I support students across the major exam boards, including Edexcel, AQA, OCR A, OCR MEI, WJEC, Eduqas, CCEA and Cambridge International.

My lessons are fully tailored to each student. I begin by identifying any gaps in knowledge and then explain each topic clearly using step-by-step examples, targeted practice and exam-style questions. I encourage students to attempt questions independently while providing the right level of guidance, helping them become more confident and less reliant on model answers.

For students preparing for exams, I focus on the areas that make the biggest difference: past-paper practice, exam technique, time management, calculator skills, showing full working and avoiding common mistakes. I also help students understand exactly what examiners are looking for so they can gain as many marks as possible.

I work with students of all abilities, including those who are struggling to catch up, students aiming to move up several grades, and high-achieving students working towards grades 8–9 or A/A*. My teaching style is patient, supportive and structured, and I adapt the pace of every lesson to suit the individual student.

Lessons are interactive and may include an online whiteboard, topic-based worksheets, past papers and personalised homework. Homework can be reviewed at the beginning of the next session so that mistakes are corrected and progress is consistent.
