GCSE Language and Literature and KS3

Advert description
Every child deserves a teacher that refuses to give up on them!

As a GCSE English tutor specialising in preparation for GCSE English language and literature, I help Key Stage 3 and 4 students unlock their potential. Many of my students come to me feeling overwhelmed or feeling they are failing within the school system. My mission is to change their mindset, build their confidence and give them the exact tools they need to achieve success.

Balancing a deep knowledge of grammar, punctuation and spelling, and all the literature texts used in the exams, I adapt my teaching to suit how every student learns. Because I also teach English as a Foreign Language, I have a unique understanding of how to break down complex language rules into simple stress-free steps.
I have been teaching, both in schools and for the last 10 years independently, for nearly 20 years.

Delivered tailored online tutoring to Key Stage 3 and 4 students specialising in AQA, Edexcel and OCR GCSE Language and Literature.

Successfully supported and raised confidence in students disengaged with mainstream schooling. This confidence building is important in that it often improves their attitude to other subjects.

I write a lot of my own materials to engage the students in creative writing techniques, the spoken English speeches, and a deep understanding of the poetry, Shakespeare and other set texts.

Maintain a flexible, fully remote digital teaching set up, ensuring consistent, high quality lessons across England.
For the last 5 years, I have only worked on referrals. I now have more time available. Parents trust me because I have proven results in turning struggling students around.

I have an understanding of the value of hard work and resilience firsthand, having been written off by teachers at school, I achieved a degree as a mature student, whilst working fulltime and raising three children as a single parent. I bring that same dedication to your child's education.

As a modern digital nomad, I work entirely online while house and pet sitting across the country. This lifestyle keeps me inspired and allows me to offer reliable, high quality online tutoring no matter where I am.

I suggest a free chat with a potential student and a parent to decide if we are a good fit - the student needs to be happy with me and I need to be sure I can help. Then 10% discount for 10 lessons.
