Learn how to study effectively for your GCSEs in this blog post. It's not enough to simply sit down for a set amount of time with your books infront of you and spend 60+% on your phone flicking through Tik Tok. You must be structured and efficient with your time.

Here are some tips to help you achieve structured and efficient revision:
- Have a schedule of how much you will spend and on which days
- Break down goals into tasks
- Efficient use of your time with allotted breaks. Using a time structure is also recommended (see pomodoro technique)
- Rest is just as important as study. Make sure you have hobbies and interests that distract your mind from study to avoid being overwhelmed.
- Make use of all the resources at your disposal, from teachers, to tutors and even your parents!
- Fuel and hydrate, have healthy snacks and water at hand. Being dehydrated by just 2% impairs performance in tasks that require attention, psychomotor, and immediate memory skills, as well as assessment of the subjective state.
- Prepare for the day, not just studying. Get good sleep and don't eat too much before an exam, as the parasympathetic nervous system sends blood flow to the GIT to help absord food.
Even though exams may seem distant all the way in the summer, the sooner you get on top of your revision the less stressed you will be when exam season rolls round. Good luck with studying for your GCSEs!
