Tips for improving your Spanish without leaving home!

How can we improve our Spanish when we don't have that much free time? It's quite simple actually. Try to dedicate at least 40 minutes each day to Spanish and the results will be amazing.

1- 10 minutes listening to something in Spanish. It could be a TV series, movie, youtube video, music, or anything else you fancy. I recommend you watch 'Las chicas del cable', 'Merlí', 'El Encargado' and Jaime Altozano and Luisito Comunica videos on Youtube.

2- 10 minutes writing in Spanish. You could try writing a journal about your day, a letter to someone (you don't have to send it, it's just for practice) or maybe a short story.

3- 10 minutes reading in Spanish. A book, newspaper or blog would be ideal for this activity, and this will not only help you improve your reading comprehension but also learn new words and expand your vocabulary. If you are already a bit comfortable with Spanish a great book is 'Kentukis' by Samanta Schweblin.

4- 10 minutes speaking in Spanish. You can do this together with the 10 minutes of listening. You can pause whatever it is you are listening to and repeat what you hear, trying to copy the pronunciation. You can find many videos to do this on Youtube, for example, the ones on 'Mejora tu expresión' and 'María Español' channels.

If you do this every day your knowledge and abilities will increase hugely. Like almost everything, it takes practice, but you will get there! Constancy is key.
