I teach Biology through an IB MYP–inspired approach that emphasizes inquiry, conceptual understanding, and real-world application. My lessons are guided by key and related concepts, allowing students to explore big scientific ideas rather than just memorize facts. I design learning experiences around inquiry questions—factual, conceptual, and debatable—to encourage deeper thinking and meaningful discussion.
I integrate the Approaches to Learning (ATL) skills, helping students develop research, communication, and critical thinking abilities alongside their scientific knowledge. Through hands-on investigations, collaborative tasks, and problem-based activities, students actively construct their understanding and apply Biology to authentic contexts.
Assessment in my classroom is criterion-based, aligned with IB MYP standards, ensuring that students are evaluated not only on knowledge but also on their ability to investigate, analyze, and reflect. Overall, my teaching fosters curiosity, independence, and a strong connection between science and everyday life.
